Customizable Share: This share allows you the most control over what you receive each week. Don’t like a certain veggie? No problem! You set your vegetable preferences at the time of sign-up. Each week (or every other week if you choose bi-weekly) we build your veggie share based on your preferences and you can swap items in and out (from your device at home on Mondays) to refine what you get each week. You can also easily purchase extra items anytime you want. The value for each item is consistently equal to retail value (i.e. prices we post at our Farm Stand and Farmers Markets). You will also be able to choose between a “regular” size and a “small” size. 

Farmers Choice Share: This is the most traditional CSA model and offers you a discount on the seasonal produce, so you get more each week. Each week your share will be filled with a mix of great veggies chosen by the Farmers focusing on what is abundant and in-season on the Farm. You receive more when the Farm produces more. Your weekly (or bi-weekly) share will reflect 10-15% off retail value (i.e. prices we post at our Farm Stand and Farmers Markets). You will still know a few days ahead what most of your share will contain, along with a few surprises!

Fall Share: The Fall share runs from the week of October 23 – the week of December 4. Fall Share has 8 vegetable shares provided over a 7 week period – there will be a double cost/value share the week of Thanksgiving! The Fall share is only available as a regular size, Farmer’s Choice box.

We also offer “secondary” shares you can sign-up for if you have already purchased a veggie share: Flower Share, Fruit Share (in partnership with Ela Family Farm),  and a Bread Share (in partnership with Moxie Bread Co.)

Paying in full saves you the most and helps the Farm with costs before we have crops to harvest. At Aspen Moon Farm we are dedicated to providing our CSA members with top-quality seasonal produce that puts the freshest possible local food on your table every week. We are USDA certified organic and use biodynamic practices to grow the best food possible for you. In return, you give your support: financially, which ensures your local farm can meet the annual upfront costs of seasonal production; and by committing to buy local produce all summer long and fueling local agriculture. Approximately 100lbs of our prime fruit over the course of a 14-week harvest season will be waiting for you to pick up at your convenience during the farmers’ market day. You’ll get peaches, pears, plums, heirloom tomatoes, and apples ripe from the farm: bagged or boxed and ready to go! There is also a canning share option. In that, members will receive 20lbs each of organic imperfect peaches, pears, heirloom tomatoes, and 40lbs of imperfect apples. Shares are available on our website from April through mid-June.

In 2024, our CSA program will run for 23 weeks, from mid-May through October. Every week, you will receive a diverse array of farm fresh produce. This year, MASA is proudly offering two sizes of Farmer’s Choice Boxes to fill your family’s needs. Secure your share by May 1.

At MASA, your CSA supports organic vegetable production, seed research, and the development of a Regional Seed Bank. The Seed Bank serves local farmers and gardeners of Boulder County and the Front Range, and is integral to the growth and security of our local food movement. In modern agriculture, it’s a rarity for a farm to grow its own seed. Being seed centric marks a radical return to the origins of farming, fostering our connection to seasons of the past and seasons of the future.

Beyond CSA, the bulk of our produce is sold or donated to Food Access Programs that are dedicated to serving low income communities. Food equity is near and dear to all our hearts on the farm. We are always seeking out new partnerships, finding allies across the spectrum to reimagine the food web.

You will also be supporting a vibrant space for community connection. Individuals, offices, many various organizations choose to volunteer with us and connect with the land. Along with our robust volunteer program, MASA also hosts several school tours every year, ranging in ages from elementary to the CU botany program! As we grow, we dream of even more ways to bring local folks onto the farm, to experience the magic and beauty of this wondrous earth.

Off Beet Farm’s CSA offers 22 weeks of fresh veggies, with multiple sizes of shares available. We offer sliding scale pricing and pay-as-you-go options. During the height of the season, members have free choice between dozens of veggie varieties, and in the shoulder weeks we offer partial customizability. Here are some examples of what our CSA might include throughout the season:

At CSA pickups, there are typically 8 items available in the share each week. Small shares will choose 4 of the 8 items, medium shares will choose 6 of the 8 items and large shares will receive one of each item. 

What types of produce is expected in 2024?

Our crop plan this season includes over 150 varieties of 36 different vegetables. The weather in Colorado doesn’t make everything a guarantee but here is some of what we are planting in 2024:

We offer weekly and biweekly Veggie Shares and also have the option to add on fruit, mushrooms, and coffee.We offer 6-8 items per week in our veggie shares and often have choices on several of the items. We do a free U-pick share in the spring before the season starts.  We have a great end of season party.  Our pickups are always staffed so you can ask questions and make choices.  There are 7 zones to choose from with many zones having crop choices to give members options on what they prefer.  We usually have other tours for CSA members and often do free U-pick tomatoes, peppers and flowers.  We also do a winter share that starts the end of October thru end of January.  We have been farming in Boulder for 20 years and have 17 years of CSA experience.

Switch Gears Farm is a small-scale vegetable farm operated by Brett and Vanita, located in Longmont, CO. We offer two primary CSA share sizes – half (meant for two or three people) and full (meant for three to four people). We also offer various add-ons, fulfilled by local vendors (more will be added over the next month). The CSA shares are for 20 weeks (May through October, skipping the week of July 1). 

Half Share ($550): This is a half share, meant for two or three people. Each week, you will receive 5-7 different types of produce grown from seed by our farm. When possible, we try to include at least one type of salad greens (e.g., lettuce, spinach, arugula), one type of roots (e.g., radishes, carrots, beets), and one type of alliums (garlic, onions, shallots, etc.). We also try not to provide the exact same variety two weeks in a row.

Full Share ($770): This is a full share, meant for three or four people. Each week, you will receive 7-10 different types of produce grown from seed by our farm. When possible, we try to include at least one type of salad greens (e.g., lettuce, spinach, arugula), one type of roots (e.g., radishes, carrots, beets), and one type of alliums (garlic, onions, shallots, etc.). We have a wide range of options for our CSA that includes a Tea CSA, Flower CSA, the option between a Small or Large Vegetable CSA, or get all three with The Whole Shebang! The vegetable shares are 20 weeks long with the best of what’s in season. The flower share is 12 weeks of in season arrangements that are valued at $35-40 for $30/week. Lastly and certainly not least is the tea share, which is 2oz. of the botanical tea blend of your choice every other week for 20 weeks (10 weeks of tea).
