For decades, the Boulder Farmers Market has been a beloved community anchor—bringing people together around fresh, local food, supporting small farms and food businesses, and creating a lively gathering place downtown. As the City of Boulder reimagines the Civic Area in Phase 2 of its redesign, now is the time to invest in the future of our farmers market… and we need your help. 

This is an opportunity for Boulder County Farmers Markets to strengthen our longtime partnership with the City of Boulder as we cement our place in Boulder’s vibrant downtown district. To make this dream a reality, we need passionate residents like you to speak up and show your support for a year-round, permanent farmers market in Downtown Boulder’s Civic Area.

Why Invest in Your Local Farmers Market?

We’re more than a fun shopping event—we’re a local economic development hub. Through all of our programs—including our three seasonal farmers markets, multiple Food Access programs, and year-round Food Hub—Boulder County Farmers Markets helped generate  $10,411,792 in sales for local food in 2024. We are proud to:

• Support more than 206 farmers, ranchers, beekeepers and local food producers with critical business, marketing, and infrastructure resources.
• Provide over 486 hours a year of know-your-farmer, mouth-watering-heirloom-bean-tasting, brought-to-your-neighborhood seasonal farmers markets in Boulder and Longmont.
• Fuel 50 weeks of local food access through our year-round Food Hub operations, including weekly low-income CSA programs.

In addition to our food vendors, the farmers markets hosted 100 local artisans, booked 38 musicians, and helped 51 community groups spread awareness about their work last year. All together, that’s 395 local businesses, organizations, artisans, and musicians that worked with and benefited from Boulder County Farmers Markets’ programs. Our markets welcomed 222,328 visitors in 2024 and our Food Access programs served 7,380 neighbors, including nearly 3,500 children. Combined, these efforts contributed to building a more inclusive food system so all community members can benefit from fresh, local food.
