Since 1987, the Boulder County Farmers Markets have worked to grow the impact of local food from the ground up.

What started with a few farmers selling produce out of the backs of their trucks has now expanded into one of the highest regarded farmers markets in Colorado, with a thriving online marketplace and food access programs providing healthy food for hundreds of families in Boulder County. Each purchase does more than just put something perfectly ripe and local on your plate—our organization digs into the year-round work of advocating for our farmers, local agriculture, and equitable food access so that the benefits of local food can create a better future for our communities and their local food systems for generations to come.

Our Mission

We are a 501 (c)4 non-profit organization that is dedicated to strengthening our food system by supporting, promoting, and expanding access to locally grown and made products for all members of our community. We do this by operating seasonal farmers markets and a year-round online marketplace that connect and strengthen relationships between local farmers, producers, and enthusiastic eaters.

Not Your Average Farmers Market

Boulder County Farmers Markets takes our commitment to local food to the next level. We operate producer-only markets. That means each and every farmer here grows their own produce and raises their own animals. Beyond that, each of our producers and prepared food vendors craft their food locally, source ingredients locally when possible, and call Colorado home.

Building Community Bite-by-Bite

Our team is dedicated to using local food as the foundation to build community. We doggedly work to increase the availability, awareness, and appreciation of high-quality Colorado grown, raised, and crafted foods to customers of all backgrounds. All in welcoming and inclusive community spaces, both in-person and online.

What We Value

Many say it, but few truly do it. Our commitment to ensuring our local food system thrives can be seen in the actions we take every single day.

Everything at the market has been vetted to ensure that it truly is local. No exceptions. And no weird ingredients either, including: high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, phosphoric acid, and artificial flavors.

We’re stronger and more resilient together. The market is a place (both IRL and online) for us to connect to our farmers, our environment, our food, and each other.

We believe everyone has a right to high quality, nutritious, delicious foods. We collaborate with government agencies and nonprofit partners to get more food into more bellies annually.

Together, our actions can transform our communities. A strong local food system can provide tremendous benefits to a diverse group of people and help shift broken community patterns.

Our Team

Our nonprofit is served by a passionate and nimble group of staff members working both at the markets and behind the scenes, as well as a volunteer Board of Directors. Every member of our team is dedicated to transforming our local food system and strengthening our communities at the markets and beyond. Meet our core team members working year round to support our mission.
